Fluid Mechanics Laboratory

Fluid Mechanics labThe Fluid Mechanics Laboratory is a facility using the tools for the study of fluid flow phenomena. The Laboratory is a facility located in the campus of the Jaypee University of Enggineering and Techology, Guna under the department of Civil Engineering. The facility is staffed by instructional faculty member, junior engineer, and graduate students. All experimental setups are devised as bench system i.e. an individual setup works as a complete unit of fluid input in system as well as storage of fluid. At present the laboratory has nearly 12 experimental set-ups where student can practically interact with the fluid flow problems and various instruments used to measure the flow properties. Some models are also displayed to equip the students with better understandings of theory and practical problems. The experimental facilities provided in lab include:  Metacentric height, Venturimeter, Orifice, Pitot tube, Orifice meter, Weirs & Notches, pipe friction and losses due to fittings and valves, Reynolds Apparatus, Impact of Jet apparatus, Centrifugal pump rig, Models of pumps, pipes fittings, valves, plumbing system, differential manometer flow through coil etc.
Some experiments in the Lab:

Reynold’s Apparatus (visualization)

Bernoulli’s Apparatus

Venturimeter Test Rig
