IUCEE Workshop 2011 on
"Selected Topics on Distributed Systems and Computer Security"
The Five Days workshop on IUCEE workshop on Course Selected Topics on Distributed Systems and Computer Security has been organized in coordination with IUCEE (Indo US Collaboration for Engineering Education). The workshop was conducted by Prof. Partha Dasgupta of Arizona State University, USA. This workshop was held during 29th May to 03rd June 2011.
This 5-days workshop was designed for faculty members teaching courses in Distributed Systems and Comptuer Security at B.Tech. or M.Tech. level.
The workshop on a breadth of topics covering security, operating systems, distributed computing with coverage of issues in file systems, parallel applications, concurrency and malware. The workshop will also have a lab component using Linux and VMware for experiments.
In this Prof. Dasgupta had a in-depth discussions and demonstrations on issues in Security and Protection like Computer Security, Vulnerabilities in Software Systems, Operating Systems & Protection, Threat Models & Root of trust, Secure Programming, Malware Propagation & Containment, and other important issues in Parallel Computing, Distributed File Systems, and Synchronization were also explained to make every one develop an insight to understand the complications and problems involved in above mentioned areas.
